See the Future of Apparel Transparency and Circularity at Circular Textile Days

Written by Andy Van Duyse | Sep 4, 2025 3:05:44 PM

The fashion industry has already made important progress toward a circular economy. Brands have shown real commitment to lowering their impact by using recycled fabrics and reducing packaging waste. Now circularity is the goal, keeping products in use longer and connecting every stage of their journey through a digital identity.

That’s exactly what the EU’s upcoming Digital Product Passport (DPP) framework is designed to do. By giving each product a digital record, DPPs make it easier to share trusted information about materials, sourcing, care, repair, resale, and recycling. It’s a natural extension of the sustainability work brands are already investing in, and a tool to turn those efforts into long-term impact and consumer trust.

On September 10–11, we’ll be in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, together with our partner Tappr at Circular Textile Days. We’ll be showcasing our digital product passport solution and how it can support brands on their sustainability journey.

What is Circular Textile Days?

Circular Textile Days is an annual event where industry leaders, sustainability experts, and policymakers come together to accelerate the shift toward a circular textile economy. Over two days, the event features:

  • Live demonstrations of textile innovations
  • Expert-led discussions on legislation, recycling, and reuse
  • Networking with brands, suppliers, and technology providers from across Europe

This year’s program brings together brands like IKEA, Norrøna, and Green Gear Alliance to share how they’re shifting toward more sustainable textile production. Attendees can also check out workshops covering topics like greenwashing, compliance, and designing products with repair in mind.

What we’re bringing to the Tappr booth

At the Tappr booth, Charming will be demonstrating how DPP solutions and sustainable labeling can come to life for your brand. Here’s what you can expect to see:

1. Digital Product Passport labeling

A Digital Product Passport is only as strong as the label it lives on. That’s why durability matters. We show what’s possible with materials and techniques to create digital carriers that fit your unique products, built to withstand washing, friction, and daily wear. This ensures the digital identity remains accessible throughout the entire lifecycle, supporting both compliance and circularity goals.

2. Data in action

With Tappr’s DPP platform, brands can build and manage their Digital Product Passports. At the event, we’ll showcase how labels act as the access points to this data. By scanning demo labels, you can see information come to life—showing how a Digital Product Passport connects the product to details such as:

  • Material composition and sourcing
  • Compliance information
  • Care instructions to extend product life
  • Features like Lost & Found and other incentives that create value from your data

3. Sustainable materials

We’ll also showcase a range of certified label and trim materials—from GRS-certified recycled polyester to GOTS-certified organic cotton. These certified choices allow brands to integrate more responsible materials without compromising on quality, durability, or look and feel.
